Brief:
Create a brand for a new casual dining chain with a healthy twist. The main USP of the food was that it contained oats. This needed to come through in the communication but not alienate the populous of 'lunch break staff' and 'grab and go shoppers'. We needed to change the perception of oats through bright and fun branding. The client needed a branding agency that would be proactive.
Create an engaging website that will help provide further information on the very first shop. The website would also need to support the social media strategy.
Solution:
We managed every little marketing detail from naming and trademarking through to photography and the social media launch. We helped create a name that had a story; a name based on the owner's grandparents who had sold Staffordshire oatcakes from their own window. Not wanting the design to look dated or themed, we then developed a fun, bold design matched with punchy and sincere copywriting that helped educate customers about the health benefits of oats without preaching. We photographed the food in a very rustic style, ensuring the brand avoided anything that looked too contrived.
We created a content managed website that could be updated easily by the staff at Ada & Richmond. The website also integrated Facebook-like buttons and Twitter buttons to help spread the word of the new concept. The overall design of the website broke free of any grid structure to reflect the casual and fun values of the brand.
The launch has been a great success and due to customer demand they have been looking to open a second restaurant with seating very soon.
