Peter Blake designs Glastonbury T-shirts!

Peter Blake, the artist behind one of pop’s most memorable images: the cover of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, has been commissioned by the National Trust to design a T-shirt and "tattoo" which will be given out at this year's Glastonbury festival and mark their first year in attendance at the event. The vintage transport quality that the posters eventually captured was inspired by a host of influences, including the Somerset countryside and its wildlife, the festival founders Michael and Emily Eavis, and a celebration of St Michael's tower on the historic Tor. The butterfly “Tattoo” above with the body of St Michael's tower will be stamped on programmes, t-shirts and festival-goers throughout the weekend.
