Google over SSL
I like to keep myself in the loop of new releases and I find myself paying particular attention to certain Google releases (Android, Chrome, GoogleWave to an extent, etc). Here's one that I completely missed: Google over SSL.
Heading over to https://www.google.com/ gives you access to the beta of their SSL Search. Secure Search isn't something I've missed, but now that it's been implemented I'm a little surprised it wasn't done a long time ago.
It's not completely secure yet, apparently accessing Cached version of web pages and using Search Suggestions sends unencrpyted traffic to their other, non SSL enabled, servers. However if you do choose to use the service, it should at least stop people 'listening in' to your searches while you Wi-Fi at Starbucks.
