Tilt-Shift Photography

I came across ‘Little Sydney’ by Keith Loutit today.  The artist has taken shots of events held in Sydney throughout the year using a clever technique called ‘Tilt-shift photography’ or ‘miniature faking’.  Miniature faking is a post-processing technique which involves blurring a photo to simulate the narrow depth of field found in macro photography and some tilt-shift photography, making the image appear to be of a miniature scale model.  However, Keith hasn’t stopped there.  He’s painstakingly pieced together a huge number of sequential photographs to create a convincing ‘animated’ miniature city.  The result is fantastic!  Take a look here.
