Ready to take the test
On May 23rd I’m taking part in the Ultimate Holding Company’s latest immersive art intervention - “Exam”. It’s a new commission for the Queer Up North Festival 2010, developed by artists Joe Richardson and Jai Redman and explores power, education, politics and queer culture at a crucial time in an entertaining and thought-provoking experiment.
Ultimate Holding Company is a radical visual arts collective based in Manchester. They’ve done some fantastic though-provoking work in the past - whether it’s recreating Guantanamo Bay in Moss Side (This Is Camp X-Ray, 2003) over 10 days or being permanently tattooed with an endangered species alongside 100 others (extInked, 2009).
Understandably the details of Exam are being kept strictly under wraps before we’re allowed in to experience the piece. I can’t wait!
