Google quietly rolled out quite a few new places on Streetview last week. One of the many areas to have been included in the update is that of the area around the Bourn Design studio here in Heaton Chapel.

Yourfonts.com offers a free service for creating your own hand written OpenType fonts. The process for doing this is also very simple, all you have to do is visit the site and follow the on-screen instructions to download the printable template for you to then hand draw your alphabet on to.

Technology is moving at an unbelievable rate and it’s amazing what you can do with the latest version of flash and a web cam. Augmented Reality - making reality better by adding to it. But with what?
Get yourself plugged into the Smart Grid and see a digital hologram come to life in your hands. Visit the ecomagination site, print out a “Solar Panel Maker” and hold it up to your web cam. You’ll be amazed. And, if you choose to view the wind turbines, blow into your computers microphone and see what happens! Clever little devils at Ecomagination.
I wont be surprised if some time in the near future we’ll be opening birthday and christmas cards with curious silhouettes, and making our way over to the nearest computer to reveal the hologram and personalised message.
